HTC Sensation 4G vs LG G2x (T-Mobile 4G Android Phone Comparison)

As you may know, T-Mobile’s high-speed 4G network which the mobile carrier claims as the largest 4G network in the country is currently covering over 200 million people in 184 areas nationwide. In order to utilize the lightning-fast 4G network, you will need to upgrade your handset to a 4G-enabled smartphone. If you’re considering to change to a 4G phone, in my opinion, HTC Sensation and LG G2x/T-Mobile G2x (also called as LG Optimus 2x in other regions) are a pair of high-end, premium smartphones from T-Mobile that worth considering. If you got the same thought with me, and would like to consider on which one is more suitable for your to purchase, do check out the following comparative table of HTC Sensation 4G vs LG G2x or T-Mobile G2x that indicates the differences between features and specifications of both phones.

Windows Phone 7 is the replacement mobile operating system for Windows Mobile 6.5 and Microsoft calls it a complete reboot for their mobile strategy and has claimed that features will only be added when they reach a high enough quality implementation.

Web browser
Windows Phone 7 provides a good browsing experience. The Internet Explorer browser offers support for up to six tabs and thumbnail views of all the open pages, so you could easily toggle back and forth. Different Applications of Windows® 7 Phone

What are the features of Windows 7 Phone applications?

Microsoft has unveiled the next version of its Operating System called Windows Phone 7 Series for mobile phones. Microsoft is including customizable “live tiles” that can update automatically with information from the phone or the Internet so as to make the interface more personal. Some of the tiles will update automatically while others can be customized manually. The interface supports an on-screen QWERTY keyboard and can support multi-touch interfaces in the same way as Windows 7 for computers. Another feature included from PCs is the Web browser. It is based on the same code as the desktop version of Internet Explorer. The vendors such as Samsung, LG, Sony-Ericsson and HTC have committed to offer devices running Windows Phone 7 Series.

Following are some of the features of Windows 7 phone applications:

Professional and user-friendly InterfaceSupports social and productivity hubsBing Maps

Professional and user-friendly Interface
The menus and interface have the fluid animations and clean typeface. It provides shortcuts to your most-used or favorite applications or websites with large and colorful tiles. It also allows you to place live tiles on the screen with links to your Facebook profile or friends. These tiles are live, so that, when the application or site is updated, then the tile will also update on your screen. Using tap and drag, you can easily move them around in any order you like. If you want to shift one of your applications to your Quick Launch display, you could simply press down on the application and select ‘Add to quick launch’.

Supports social and productivity hubs
The People Hub helps in aggregating your friends from all of your social networks in three screens: ‘Recent’, ‘All’ and ‘What’s New’. The ‘Recent’ will display you the friends who have just updated their profiles or statuses while ‘All’ will show all of your friends. ‘What’s new’ quickly collects status update, all into a single feed. It is also able to quickly share your own status update. The Pictures Hub allows you to see all of the pictures on your hub, your most recent pictures and what’s new with all of your friends.

Forward Urgent Emails to Your Cell Phone as Text Messages

So, I wanted to write today about something I recently did, and for me was kind of cool and exciting.

I have tons of email addresses.  I have my work email, 3 personal emails, and a bunch of personal business email addresses.  I get flooded with messages every day to say the least.

I noticed the other day that I get a daily email that is very time sensitive, and if I can read the email right away when it is sent to me, I can capitalize on some opportunities.  The email usually comes into my Inbox around the same time each day, but I’m a busy guy, I forget what time it is, I don’t always go in and check for it right away.  And my schedule doesn’t permit me to sit in Gmail and keep hitting refresh.

You might have a similar situation.  No matter what the reason, if you have an email that comes from a certain person or business, or has a certain subject line, you can forward those emails to your cell phone as text or MMS messages, so you’ll be instantly notified once the email comes in.

Here’s how to do it:

Step 1

You probably have an email address with your cell phone carrier and you might not even know it.  It’s usually your 10-digit number

uTorrent Remote Manages Your BitTorrent Downloads from Your Android Phone [Downloads]

Android: The uTorrent 3.0 alphas have a pretty convenient web UI, but now Android users can start, stop, monitor and even download torrents to their phone with BitTorrent's official uTorrent remote app.

Web UIs are great for monitoring your downloads when you aren't at home, but no one likes a webapp on their phone—even if it is mobile-frirendly. If you're a uTorrent user rocking an Android phone, you'll definitely want to check out the new uTorrent Remote app, which taps into uTorrent 3.0's remote access feature to manage your home PC's downloads when you're out and about.

This isn't just a torrent monitor like the webapp, either. You can not only check on your downloads and start new ones, but even check your BitTorrent RSS feeds and shift completed files directly to your phone. Note that you'll need to be running uTorrent 3.0 on your home machine to use this app.

uTorrent Remote is a free download for Android devices running 2.1 and up.

LCDDensity Fakes a Higher Resolution on Your Rooted Android Phone [Downloads]

Android: If you find that you're doing too much scrolling on your phone, free app LCDDensity will artificially let you increase your resolution, making browsing and menu navigation a snap.

If you've rooted your phone, you can just download LCDDensity from the Market and use it to change the appearance of your phone with a simple slider. Slide it to the left and your phone will appear to have a larger resolution, with smaller icons, more pictures per page in the Gallery app, and so on. If you use ADW or LauncherPro's ability to fit more icons on your home screen, this should also help make things a little less cramped-looking. It may seem weird at first, but I've found a very mild increase in resolution makes browsing quite a bit easier on my phone, and navigating things like the Android Market are nicer too:

How to Force Your Android Phone to Check for a System Update [Android]

You've just read or heard that your phone is due for an update—maybe just bug fixes, or possibly a big version upgrade. But your phone claims there's nothing doing. Dial this keypad combination to force a "checkin" and possible upgrade.

If there's no update available for your phone from your carrier, then this trick won't magically compile and distribute one, of course. But there can be a lag between when a carrier makes an update available and when your phone checks in to see if it's available—even if you hit the Settings menu, choose About phone, and click the "Check for system updates" option. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't—but it doesn't hurt.

To get your phone into the queue right away, dial

How to Install APK Non-Market Apps on Android Phone

Most of the apps (or applications) for Android-based devices is available for download through the central Android Market, which is installed by default on most Android smartphones and tablets. Unlike iPhone, as Android is an open system, there may be programs especially hacks that are not available from Android Market, and only can be downloaded from third-party sources.

All installable Android apps are using the .apk file type format. A file with .apk extension is an Android Package file, and can be installed on any Android powered device. While Android Market can download and install the apps automatically, but how to install non-Market .apk apps onto Android?

Unlike Windows, Mac OS X or Linux desktop operating system, where user can simply double click to run the installer, Android does not even include a File Manager in stock form. However, there are many ways in which an .apk can be installed onto the Android device, and here’s the trick and guide on how to install .apk apps.

Method 1: Install .apk Apps with an APK Apps Installer or File Manager

While Android Market app cannot install an .apk file directly, it can be used to download apps installers or APK installers that available for free download from Android Market.

Touch the Android APK app that wanted to be installed to initiate the installation.Confirm the installation dialogs.Once installation is completed, user can access the application from menu.

Method 2: Push Install APK via Android SDK on Computer

By directing installing an app in .apk extension to the mobile device via computer, user does not need to use Android Market, and hence does not need to associate a Google Account with the Android device.

Download and install Android SDK (available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux) by simply unpacking the starter package to a safe location and then add the location to system’s environment path. For Windows users, download and install USB driver for adb by double clicking on SDK Setup.exe at the root of the SDK directory to invoke the Android SDK and AVD Manager. Windows Phone 7 Games Hub prioritizes Xbox Live Titles

September 30th, 2010. Filed under:Phone. Tags: Games, WP7 Apps
If you ask me  or anybody for that  matter  whats the USP of the Windows Phone 7?  The answer would be Xbox Live Titles! And why is that? A Few days ago Microsoft announced a Wide range of Launch Titles for Xbox  Live games for Windows Phone 7 at the launch, with more than 50 Xbox Live Titles at the Launch from publishers like Gameloft, THQ .

It’s quite evident that Xbox Live games are surely going to have an upper hand in the game titles as well as the prioritization in the games hub. Michel Klucher, Lead Program Manger XNA Development Platform at Microsoft,  recently talked about the Xbox Live and non Xbox Live game titles in the Games Hub.

“Any games whether they use the Xbox LIVE services or not are listed in the Games hub for Windows Phone 7. Games that do not use Xbox LIVE will be listed right below the Xbox LIVE enabled titles in your collection. All games can be pinned to the start menu just like any other content in Windows Phone 7.”

Developers can now complete their applications and games for the Windows Phone 7 platform. The release is available for download over the web. Currently the release is only in English Language. The other languages will soon be available in upcoming weeks which includes French, German, Spanish and Italian.

“The final release of the Windows Phone Developer Tools is the culmination of hard work on the part of many talented people. We couldn’t, however, have done it without the help of the community. The feedback we received since our initial release in March has enabled us to make some changes, resulting in a better finished product. Everything you need to begin developing apps is included in a single download: Visual Studio 2010 Express for Windows Phone, the Windows Phone Emulator, Expression Blend 4 for Windows Phone, and XNA Game Studio 4.0. The installer is smart enough to download only what you need, and the tools will work with your existing Visual Studio 2010 and Expression Blend 4 installations”,Said Brandon Watson,(Director for Windows Phone 7).”

The submission of applications will start in first few weeks of October 2010. So all those who want to submit their applications to the Windows Phone Marketplace should download this tool and complete their apps and games before submitting  it over the marketplace, which is mandatory  to get the application Certified.

You can track the status of your certification of apps over the WP7 Developer Portal.
